U15 Girls Football v's St Angela's - Monday 29 November 2021

On a fresh Monday afternoon, SMMA U15 girls certainly brought the heat to the football pitch, standing 5-1 victorious in round 2 of the London Cup against an athletic and hungry opposition. An early opener from Sude allowed the team to gain confidence, keeping possession throughout the first half to finish 2-0 at halftime. Flo was filling the field with a loud voice, vital in the teams’ communication. Despite 2 phenomenal saves in a row from Liamara, who leapt like a salmon, St Angela’s scored a goal to take the score line to 3-1. This did not come as a threat to SMMA as Edie battled through to score a hatrick and Sude topped up the scoreline to make it 5. Some notable solidarity in defence from Eleanor and Rachel kept the goals against at just one. A stellar effort from the whole team who demonstrated admirable teamwork and encouragement throughout the game. This moves the team into the next round of the London Cup.

Team Sheet: Sude, Florrie, Edie, Liamara, Rachel, Eleanor, Debbie, Jada, Milla, Willow, Olivia, Ava.

Girls Year 7 Netball Team

Over the past half term, our Year 7 girls have developed their netball skills in the Islington Netball League. Although most players are new to the sport the girls demonstrated great integrity, and enthusiasm to learn the many rules and positions. Some fantastic demonstration of encouragement and resilience was shown by all girls. Grace B making interceptions for fun, Samaria using fantastic positional vision to find spaces and Molly was reading the game like a very good book. The girls will continue to develop their game with some friendly games later on this year. Well done to all who played in the squad.
