Year 10 Rap Their Way to Success in the Dragons' Den!Posted on: 29th Nov 2018
This month our Year 10 students visited the smart City headquarters of Deutsche Bank, for a Dragons' Den–style challenge.
At the investment bank’s head office in London Wall, the students met with Senior Traders and were tasked with devising a new product. After an intensive morning of team building and skills workshops – and a delicious lunch – the students worked in groups to develop an ambitious range of products, ready to pitch to the Dragons.
The Senior Traders commented on the impressive confidence and originality of all the teams, and on the quality of the presentations. But they had no hesitation in choosing our winners. Big congratulations to Abdullahi, Tolani, Mikelange, Nathan, Alex, Jammal, Gideon and Calil; the quality of their idea and their inventive rap–and–beatbox pitch won the day!
Here's what our winning team say, and you can see pictures below.
Abdulla – “Winning made me feel like a real businessman… It expands my mind more.”
Tolani – “When they declared our group’s name, I felt a rush of joy.”
Calil – “I was so pleased and happy.”
Gideon – “I learned a lot things in Deutsche Bank and it was fun.”
Alex – “I felt my hard work had paid off… we worked hard all day.”
Nathan – “I was excited by our glorious win!”
Jammal – “I wasn’t completely surprised because I knew it was a very good idea."
Business Studies teacher Mr Lewis says, “It was a busy, successful and enjoyable day for all. I was very proud of their performance.”
