Elaine Kneller
Director of Learning: Mathematics and Enterprise
Elaine joined the leadership team of the Academy in January 2007, having previously worked as Curriculum Manager of the Mathematics faculty in Raine's Foundation School in Tower Hamlets. During her time there, she received very good feedback from Ofsted on her leadership and management skills and enjoyed a secondment as Assistant Headteacher.
As well as working in two other inner city church schools, Elaine has been a mathematics consultant for an LEA and a primary teacher trainer overseas.
Elaine's thoughts on her new role:
"It's an opportunity of a lifetime to be part of the team setting up the Academy, and to consider how we create an interesting and relevant curriculum that engages and challenges learners. I think many of the innovative ideas that we will put in place, such as Homebase teaching for Years 7 and 8 and the 'family' pastoral structure will help to develop a real sense of community within the Academy that will set us apart from most other schools."
Elaine takes on the role of Director of Learning for Mathematics and Enterprise and will also lead the whole-school developments in Monitoring and Evaluation at the Academy.
