Dear Parents/Carers

Holocaust Exhibition – Wednesday 20 January 2010

Currently in the exhibition space at the front of the Academy (Liverpool Road entrance) is a Holocaust Exhibition. A short tour has been arranged for any Parents and Carers, including Primary, who would like to view this exhibition. The tour will be on Wednesday 20 January from 3pm – please enter by the Liverpool Road entrance.

Class Assemblies

Class assemblies will begin on Friday 29 January at 2.45pm in the Primary Hall. Here are the dates for the term:

29.1.10 - Year 2
5.2.10 – Year 6
12.2.10 – Year 5
26.2.10 - Year 1
5.3.10 – Year 3
12.3.10 – Year 4
25.3.10 (Thursday) – Reception

Class Letters

Today you should receive a class letter from your child’s class teacher. Please look out for this as it will give you detailed information about the plans for your child’s learning this term.

SENCO Surgery

Just to remind you, a SENCO surgery is held after school on Wednesdays from 3.30pm – 5pm. This is an opportunity for you to come along and discuss with Ceni Gilmore, our SENCO, any concerns you have regarding special educational needs and your child.

John Stewart

Many of you will remember John Stewart and I know will be very pleased to hear that his wife Jodie gave birth to a baby girl on Wednesday. Mum, baby and very proud dad are all doing very well!

Quote of the Week

Our quote from this week comes from Jessie Owens ((1930-1981), a famous Olympic gold medallist: “We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, self-discipline, dedication and effort.”

Yours sincerely

Joy Parke
Head of Primary
