¡Ai caramba!
The Primary Department last week was awash with floating flamenco dresses, splendid sombreros and Mexican mustaches. You might have heard Reception class singing in Spanish, or smelt the delicious tortillas that year 2 cooked. This was all to celebrate Spanish week, and to have fun exploring the cultures and costumes from a variety of Spanish speaking countries.
Key Stage 2 children were treated to an interactive drama workshop where they helped to tell three different fairy stories… all en español! Year 3 went on a trip to the Europa Centre where they experienced life in a Spanish town, and were able to use Euros to buy themselves a treat in the cafetería.
And that’s not all – the winners of the Healthy Language Diet poster competition will be announced shortly, with lots of prizes up for grabs. Watch this space!
What better way to complete the week than to celebrate Spain’s success in the world cup. ¡Enhorabuena!
¡Hasta pronto!
