  Carbon Neutral Expeditions workshop

Richard Spink and Raoul Surcouf, of Carbon Neutral Expeditions, visited the Academy and spoke to Year 7 students on their previous expeditions to the Arctic and their next expedition, which will be carbon neutral, in May 2008. Students were given an insight into what it is like to go on these expeditions and were able to see the equipment needed for the trips.

The aim of the expedition is not only to investigate the effects of global warming in the region, but to forge links with schools and keep in touch with them throughout the journey. The data they collect will be sent to schools so that students can draw their own conclusions about the impact of global warming. We are very excited at the prospect of keeping in touch with Carbon Neutral Expeditions during their journey, and hearing more from them when they return.

This is part of ongoing work the students are involved in, as they investigation of the impact of people on the environment. For further information on the expedition visit Carbon Neutral Expeditions.
