The wrapping comes off!

St Mary Magdalene Academy has reached a significant milestone. The wrapping has started to come off the new building. For a gallery of pictures, click here.
The Bride Street elevation is the first element of the building to be exposed to the light of day. The contractors, Mace Plus, will continue the unwrapping over the next few weeks, working in a clockwise direction. The fabulous design features of the building will then be on full view.
The external ground works will soon begin, and the internal fit-out is continuing at good speed. Some 200 skilled craftsmen are onsite most days, working away unseen, putting all the elements of the building together. It is a mammoth task which is all coming together under the watchful eyes of the design team from Fielden Clegg Bradley.
Mace Plus are on target to hand over Phase 1A of the building on 3 September. The staff will then come in for induction and familiarisation, a week before the first students arrive on 10 September 2007.
