St Mary Magdalene Academy is an all-through school from 4 to 18, with Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form departments.

Primary

Parents who wish to view the Primary Department are asked to make an appointment through the Primary Office (call 020 7697 0123).

In the Primary Department there are admissions for 30 children per year and entrance is based on the admissions policy criteria. The closing date for Primary Reception class 2010/11 admissions is 2 February 2010.

Secondary

Parents who wish to view the Secondary Department are invited to attend open evenings in September. There is also an annual careers fair held at the Islington Design Centre in September.

Last year there were 762 applications for 180 places. Within the community allocation students were taken from within a 0.88kms radius of the Academy and for the foundation places students were taken from within a 1.68kms radius of the Academy.

Secondary admissions policy

The closing date for Secondary transfer into Year 7 in 2011/12 is 31 October 2010. As this falls on a Sunday, when the council’s offices are shut, we recommend you return your application by Friday 29 October 2010.

Sixth Form

Any students or parents who are interested in the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the Sixth Form are welcome to come in and visit us. Please contact Emma Bishop to arrange an appointment.

Please note there is no catchment area for Sixth Form entry. To apply for a place please download the application form, complete and return it to the Academy.
