Kate Jenkins
What type of governor are you? Co-opted.
Why are you a governor of St Mary Magdalene Academy? I have been a governor of St Mary Magdalene Primary School for the past three years.
Which subject at school did you love best and why? History, English and languages. In fact any subject except maths and science. I love the use of language.
What's your favourite book of all time? Too many to mention, but they would include: Jane Eyre, Anna Karenina, To Kill a Mockingbird and Green Eggs and Ham.
Who was your most memorable / inspiring teacher at school? Mrs Banham. Her enthusiasm and love of literature was totally inspiring.
What's your favourite: chocolate or ice cream? Good vanilla ice cream.
What are your hopes for St Mary Magdalene Academy? I feel very strongly that education in Islington at secondary level is not what it should be. We have a rare opportunity to create a high achieving, yet nurturing Christian school in the heart of our community. A school which will cater for all our children's needs.
