What do you mean by a Christian ethos?
The Academy is sponsored by the Church of England and our educational vision draws from the deep well of learning and personal development found in the Christian tradition.
Senior staff will be practising Christians and there will be opportunities in our daily life for students to learn about and engage in worship for example we will have a chapel for prayer and small services. We will also have close links with nearby clergy, and will visit local churches to celebrate the main festivals of the Christian calendar.
Because our values and vision spring from our Christian ethos, we aim to develop an inclusive atmosphere, in which students of different faith traditions and world views learn to share their perspectives with respect and tolerance.
Students of other faiths (and no faith) who live in the local community will be just as much at home in the Academy as those from Christian homes. A Christian Academy which helps those of different faiths to learn about and from each other, will help to foster the regard and tolerance we want to see in society.
