Will the Academy deliver on exam results?

As a new school, we have no past results to point to, but we have ambitions for excellent attainment at the Academy. Church of England secondary schools in London have results which, on average, exceed similar schools.

We will also be building on the tradition of the St Mary Magdalene Primary School which, under the leadership of John Stewart, our Academy's new vice-principal, has achieved outstanding exam results in recent years, and a "very good" in its OFSTED Report. Its recent results have made it one of the best primary schools in the area and, in 2005, put it in the top 50 schools in England.

Our Principal, Paul Hollingum, also has a fine track record in urban London, leading a very effective Church of England secondary school which was considered as "good" by OFSTED and which has achieved exam results which exceed the local and national averages. Paul's leadership was judged by OFSTED to be "excellent".

In the first years of the Academy, we will concentrate our staff recruitment on experienced teachers to ensure that the students get effective teaching from the first day of the first term. Excellent facilities, in tandem with high quality teaching and learning, will mean each student can achieve his or her potential.
